Beauty Cookson is no beauty. In fact, she’s as plain as anything – and her scary Dad is always telling her so. He’s a fussy, bullying tyrant who constantly puts her and Mum down. And when a birthday party goes very wrong, Mum and Beauty realise that Dad is out of control. They need to escape before someone gets hurt. So they run away! Soon Mum and Beauty are in a sunny seaside resort, finding a new-found freedom, a hobby, an income… and even a new nickname for Beauty. All of Beauty’s dreams are coming true at last… and she deserves it! This brand new blockbuster from Jacqueline Wilson is an inspirational tale of hope to make your heart dance.

I love this book. Beauty’s Dad is ruining her and her mums life. I am glad they ran away.

Absoulutly brilliant! I loved it! You were really feeling sorry for Beauty having to put up with all the mean girls at school, and then having her horrible Dad at home! I was so glad it ended happily though!

This book is really really good, most of the girls in my year have this book and all think it is awsome. I think every girl should read it. The only disappointing thing is chapter 7 is sad but it is a really good book and I think you girls should read it if you are aged 9+!
This is your chance to own a copy of Cookie, in a gorgeous tin, signed by Jacqueline Wilson herself!
