Allie Finkle has a dog called Marvin, two annoying little brothers – and a bunch of rules for everything, based on bitter experience! The rules go something like this: never buy a pet that poops in your hand. Never put a cat in your suitcase. And never, never let your family move into a haunted house! But when Allie’s family force her to move to a creepy old house in town, where she’s the new girl at a new school and minus her best friend, Allie is stuck out on her own with only her rules to rely on.
