The Hodgeheg

Look insideThe Hodgeheg

All the hedgehogs dream of the Great Crossing which will take them across the road to a new life on the other side. A new life in the Park, with its beautiful lily pond, and juicy slugs, worms and snails! But who will lead the hedgehogs across the dangerous road to their brave new world? Could Max be the hero they’ve been waiting for? A warm and spirited comedy from favourite author Dick King-Smith.

We have enjoyed reading this book. It is very funny. We like the part when Max muddles his words. He makes us laugh. It is good when the hedgehogs cross the road with the lollipop lady. She has a magic wand and can control the noisy monsters. The book tells us all how to be safe crossing the road. The sad bits are when hedgehogs are flattened in the road but even this did make us smile. We think Dick King Smith has a style which is real without being too sad. We would recommend this book to other readers in our age group.
